Got my car back after 2 weeks with Frank Keane BMW . Clutch has been replaced and all seems fine.
Looking through the bill and clutch is there, and the labour for the clutch, nothing out of the ordinary there. What I need to query is this charge…
Carry out non start, gearbox stuck in 5th gear. Remove gear manually. Car starts. Carry out diagnosic test schedules. - €425!

So the first failure of the M3 has dawned upon us. Symptoms were SMG gearbox not going into gear. You would select a gear and the SMG unit will hesitate finding the gear and the revs would hunt, sometimes it would go into gear after a few seconds. That was the start of it, after a few hours it was not getting better I was expecting the worse.

Not very good pictures but still interesting. Front rotors are glowing red hot, never thought stock brakes could withstand such heat. Only thing changed is stainless steel lines, Motul RBF600 brake fluid and Performance Friction 01 pads.
